We have been long waiting for a
Photoshop version for the iOS, and now we have it in the Apple Store:
Photoshop Touch for iPad. This is actually a striped out, fully optimized for touch version of the one that we can currently use on your computers. Of
course, you’ll not find all the features that you can find in the latter, but key capabilities have been implemented in this iOS app too; these a few worth mentioning: layers, filters, selection tools. In the presentation video, Adobe says that the creative impulses can come to the user at any place, so having a tablet with PS on it will help him/her be productive on the spot. In addition, one can import images from different sources like Facebook, Adobe’s own Creative Cloud, Google Images or from the memory of
the iPad itself. The customized image can be then shared on the social
networks with a simple touch (comments that you friends leave can also be seen directly from the Photoshop Touch
for iPad), or uploaded on the Creative Cloud in
order to be opened later, if needed, with the computer version of Photoshop.
Please be advised that this
application from Adobe is available for the iPad 2 only, thus it is not compatible with the first iPad. The
decision to leave out the first generation of the Apple tabler seems to have been taken due to technical requirements. Also, in order to run the app, you’ll need to have the latest version of iOS 5. The same policy has been applied on the
Android Market too, as the Photoshop version for Android has been available on the above mentioned market since November, but only for selected devices.
Adobe Photoshop Touch For iPad Available Now
Let’s wrap up some interesting features of the new Photoshop Touch for iPad app: fully optimized for finger touch, key features imported from the computer version as filters, layers or selection tools, the possibility to import images from different social networks like Facebook, from Google Images or directly from your iPad’s camera, the possibility to share your images via social networks and to sync the projects with the computer version via Creative Cloud.
